NOTE:
1. The term equivalent has limited meaning and for detail qualifications please refer the Qualification Table in the Online Registration Form. Candidates having the qualifications as specified in the Online Registration Form only are eligible for respective disciplines.
2. In case of CGPA/OGPA or letter grade, equivalent percentage of marks shall be provided by the candidate as per norms of University / Institute.
Age Limit:
Minimum 20 years and Maximum 30 years as on 1st
June 2005.
Persons born between 1st June 1975 and 1st June 1985 (Both
dates inclusive) need only apply.
Selection
& Training:
The
selection methodology will comprise of a written
test (Objective type) consisting questions on
General Aptitude and Discipline knowledge. Short
listed candidates will be called for interview at
the venues decided by MTNL. Finally selected
candidates will be subjected to medical test.
Candidates will have to pass through each test
separately.
Selected Candidates
will have to undergo induction training and will be
posted to any division / Unit/Office of MTNL
anywhere within the Country/Abroad.

Pay and
Emoluments:
Selected candidates will be entitled for a stipend of
Rs. 12,000/- p.m. during training period and on successful
completion of training shall be appointed in the IDA pay
scale of Rs. 10,750-300-16,750 p.m. plus HRA/subsidized
housing and other benefits like medical facilities,
productivity linked incentive, gratuity, contributory
provident fund, LTA, Leave encashment, etc, which at the
minimum basic of the prescribed scale works out to be
approximately Rs.2.5 lacs per annum.
Vacancies:
The vacancies indicated are inclusive of
back log and are only indicative in nature. The final
vacancies may get revised based on future final
requirement. The vacancies for the post of JAO in Finance
and Account Stream are only at Mumbai.
Concessions/Relaxations:
v Reservation
of posts for SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer)/PH categories
will be as per Government Rules in force.
v
Upper
age limit relaxation by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3
years for OBC candidates (listed under Central list) and
10 years for physically handicapped candidates.
v
Candidates
only with following minimum 40% disability ( except low
vision for HR stream ) will be considered for appointment
against the posts reserved for physically handicapped :-

One leg affected (ii) One arm affected
(iii) partially deaf, (iv)
Low Vision (Maximum upto 40% loss of sight) are eligible
to apply for Human Resource Stream only.

In
case of ex-servicemen who have put in not less than Six
months' continuous service in the Armed Forces of the
Union, they shall be allowed to deduct the period of such
service from their actual age and if the resultant age
does not exceed by more than three years the maximum age
limit prescribed for the posts/services for which a
candidate seeks appointment, he/she shall have deemed to
have satisfied the condition regarding the age limit.
Examination:
The candidates will have to undergo objective type
written test in their respective discipline at Bangalore,
Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata,
Lucknow, Mumbai. The question paper will have
70 questions to test general aptitude covering areas
of General English, Reasoning & Logical Deduction,
Numerical Ability and 100 questions of the relevant
disciplines to test candidate's discipline knowledge.
Duration of examination will be of 2 hours and shall be
held simultaneously for all the disciplines on the same
date and time in a single sitting in the month of September
2005.
How to apply:
Eligible and interested candidates would be
required to apply online through MTNL’s website: www.mtnl.net.in. No other means/mode of application shall be
accepted. While applying online, candidate should have
their e-mail ID (WHICH MUST BE VALID FOR MINIMUM OF SIX
MONTHS) and Demand Draft (DD) of
Rs. 400/- as processing and Examination fee for
General and OBC candidates and a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs.
100/- as processing fee for SC/ST/PH candidates, readily
available, as the DD details and valid e-mail ID are
mandatory fields without which applications will not be
registered. Ex-Servicemen candidates are to send crossed
Demand Drafts of value as applicable for their respective
category e.g. General/OBC & SC/ST. The Demand Draft
are non refundable and should be drawn in favor of "Mahanagar
Telephone Nigam Ltd" payable
at New Delhi. The online registration site would be
open from 9th July 2005 to
23rd July 2005. All correspondence with
candidates shall be done through e-mail only. All
information regarding examination schedule / admit card
etc shall be provided through email. Responsibility of
receiving, downloading and printing of admit card shall be
of the candidate, MTNL will not be responsible for any
loss of email sent, due to invalid / wrong email ID
provided
After applying online, candidate is required to print
the system generated Registration Slip with
unique registration number and other essential details
with space for passport size photograph & signature.
In order to save the data entered, applicants should click
a “save” button and then print the Registration
Slip. The original Registration Slip with ,
required Demand Draft having name
duly written on the back of DD and Caste /
Physically Handicapped certificate (for reserved category
only) is to be sent,
only by ORDINARY POST, to MTNL,
Post Bag Number 005, Market Road Post Office, New Delhi-110 001, so
as to reach latest by 30th July 2005. The
candidature of such candidate whose registration slips
along with documents is received after 30th
July 2005 shall be rejected.
Candidate should take special care NOT to staple the
Demand Draft.
They should use steel pins for fastening all documents /
demand drafts.
Candidates may visit our website www.mtnl.net.in
28th August 2005 onwards for downloading the
admit card for written examination.
General Instructions:
- The courses offered by Autonomous Institutions
should be equivalent to the relevant courses
approved/recognized by Association of Indian
Universities (AIU)) UGC/AICTE.
- Wherever CGPA/OGPA or letter grade in a degree is awarded,
equivalent percentage of marks should be indicated in
the application (online) as per norms adopted by
University/ Institute.
- Candidate
employed in Govt. departments / PSUs / Autonomous
Bodies have to produce NOC at the time of interview.
- Candidates appearing in the final year of qualifying examination
and awaiting results may also apply. However, they
must produce their relevant Degree/Diploma certificate
at the time of interview.
- No request for change of examination centre shall be entertained.
However, MTNL reserves the right to cancel or add any
centre depending on the response in that area/centre.
- Registration forms should not have any enclosure except the demand
draft and Caste/Class/PH certificate as applicable.
- Demand drafts payable at locations other than Delhi/New Delhi will
not be accepted .MO/PO or any other mode of payment is
not acceptable. MTNL shall not be responsible for any
postal delay/loss in transit. No request in this
regard will be entertained. Registration slip received
with more than one Demand Draft and photocopies of
Registration slip/Demand Draft will be rejected.
- Candidates should retain a photocopy of their Demand Draft and Registration
Slip for future reference. Only original
registration slip (no photocopy) shall be accepted.
- Court of jurisdiction for any dispute will be at Delhi.
